Our staff

has been providing property management in the Sacramento area since 1978 and started Horizon Properties in 1988. Building the company from the bottom up, she is proud to say that two of her original five clients are still with Horizon Properties today.

Never having purchased accounts or employed mass marketing techniques, Janet prefers instead to build her company slowly, mostly through referrals. "I believe that the key to our success," she says, "is that we treat all owners, tenants and vendors with the same level of courtesy and respect. That, and good communication!"

Janet holds an MPM (Master Property Manager) designation from NARPM (National Association of Residential Property Managers), which is held by fewer than 80 property managers nationwide. Having served on the Board of Directors of the Sacramento Chapter of NARPM for many years, Janet served as Vice President in 2004 and President in 2005 and 2006.

is a licensed property manager who has been with Horizon Properties since 1993. Originally from the Los Angeles area, he studied Business Administration at Cal State Northridge and thereafter attended real estate school and obtained his Real Estate license before joining Horizon Properties. As the senior Property Manager for Horizon Properties, Tim does field work including property inspections, posting FOR RENT signs and serving legal notices. He enjoys camping, traveling with his family, hiking, reading, and stamp collecting. His true passion, however, is the 1967 Volkswagen Beetle he has been driving since 1968.

has an extensive background in Real Estate and draws on that experience when handling the numerous calls and emails from people interested in seeing or renting our available properties. She loves dealing with people, which is a good thing since Lisa often spends her entire day telling people all about our rentals, pre-qualifying them, giving them directions and setting up private showing appointments.


is the Office Manager for Horizon Properties. She strives to ensure that all our clients are served in a professional and efficient manner. Originally from Southern California, Robine has been working with Horizon Properties since 1998. In her lesiure she enjoys spending time with her family and taking trips to the beach.


is bookkeeper for Horizon Properties and has extensive background in construction and property management accounting. As a Libra, she strives for balance, which is reflected in her tenacity in reconciling the books. She has spent many years as a softball Mom, and has enjoyed seeing the country with her two daughters as they competed in national tournaments.

 is our Leasing Assistant, handling application processing, assisting tenants with the application process, and keeping owners informed of promising applicants for their homes. She also provides assistance to Lisa as needed, and she processes our advertising. Her first visit to Horizon Properties was as a one-day fill-in receptionist. However, we couldn't get rid of her that easily, and she soon commandeered her very own desk. While not directing important calls or marketing our properties for rent, Tara spends entirely too much time sewing and immersing herself in show tunes. She's also interested in linguistics and doing musical theatre, and is hoping to pursue a degree in business.

 is the Broker's Assistant and provides all sorts of administrative, clerical and technical support in our office. She is a Libra who grew up in Huntington Beach before moving to Sacramento in 1993. She is an avid reader, adores music, movies and books, is partial to all things Japanese including sushi, and is a dizzying storehouse of useless pop culture trivia. Her family is most important to her, and she looks forward to visiting them in Southern California each year. Dina's dream is to one day have a home on the beach.

 is a Maintenance Coordinator and is responsible for arranging all repairs needed by our tenants, ensuring that properties are kept well-maintained. She is a Libra, a native of Sacramento, and a a veteran of property management with over a decade of experience before she joined us. Margie enjoys travel, gardening, cooking and jigsaw puzzles, and loves spending time with her grandchildren.

is a Maintenance Coordinator for Horizon Properties and works with owners, tenants, vendors and others as she strives to ensure that vacant and available properties are maintained in a professional and efficient manner. She is originally from northern Florida, grew up in San Jose and moved to the area to attend Sacramento State for journalism. There that she met her husband of seven years. They have two children. Shonda has worked in mortgage lending, disability and as a fraud investigator. She is an avid sports fan and enjoys working out, reading, writing and shoe shopping.

is a Property Manager for Horizon Properties, conducting field work including property inspections, posting FOR RENT signs and serving legal notices, as well as assisting in the office with various tasks. She recently moved back to Sacramento to be closer to family. She graduated from Cal State Sacramento with a Bachelors in Child Development. She comes to us after spending eight years in sunny Tucson, Arizona, four years of which were spent working in the multi-family property management field. Crystal Crystal enjoys spending her leisure devoting quality time to family, traveling, making quilts, camping, and fishing.

is the administrative assistant, tackling varied tasks ans providing added support where needed. She was born and raised in the Sacramento area and loves her hometown. Her middle name is Joy and, as a rule, does not buy greeting cards without the word joy in them. She considers being in the kitchen chopping vegetables her therapy. Running jokes among her friends are that she has a thing for the silent 'h' in words, she likes to announce that she was a spelling bee champion and Spanish student-of-the-year while in school, and she is highly competitive when it comes to board games.

is our receptionist, directing people in need to the appropriate department for speedy service. He attended a French school in San Francisco before moving to Sacramento for high school. Zephyr completed his BA in philosophy at UCSB, where he competed on the school fencing team and worked as an editor and photographer for the campus newspaper. He loves science fiction, fencing, photography and learning about emerging technology.

was born and raised in Philadelphia. He graduated from La Salle University with a BS in Accounting. After a 28 year career as a Bank Examiner with FDIC, he retired and joined Horizon Properties as Vice President and oversees the Accounting department. In his free time Brian is an avid reader, enjoys music and going on adventures with his family and white German Shepherd.


loves to stay busy and has worn many hats for Horizon Properties. She is responsible for conducting nearly all of our showings of available properties at aspiring tenants' convenience. She carries two cell phones and works from dawn well into the evening seven days a week. Sue is always willing to go the extra mile to help others. Originally from Tennessee and a mother of nine children, she came to Sacramento to raise her family, and we're glad she did!

is a native of Pennsylvania and graduated from Penn State University with a BS in Mathematics. He has many interests including music, puzzles, hiking, reading and chess. He has participated in and won prizes at the World Open Chess Tournament and the National Sudoku Championship in Philadelphia. Cru is responsible for quantitative optimization of our advertising, providing technical support and for creating and maintaining the horizonproperties.com web site and many of the systems we use every day!
